Packing items correctly is vital in order for it to reach the buyer in good shape. All shipping providers refuse damage claims if the item was insufficiently packed. 

Here are some Tradera tips (as well as tips from our shipping partners): 

• Use a box or a padded bag that is larger than the item to be shipped so that there is room for protective material (e.g. bubble wrap). You can often buy a suitable package from the shipper. In some cases they are included in the price. 

• Cover the item with bubble wrap, paper or other protective material in order to keep it securely in the box and avoid damage. 

• Use wide tape when sealing the box. Should the box be worn, tape it where necessary. 

• Make sure you write the address of the recipient carefully. Also provide your return address. If you recycle a box, make sure there are no old address stickers on the package (make sure you cover old address information with a black marker). 

• Provide a printed order confirmation so that your buyer can control that the right item has been shipped. 

• Add a business card with your nickname thanking the buyer to ensure future deals.
